Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L) is a local non-governmental, non-partisan, secular and non-profit-making organization established for facilitating programmes that promote grassroots empowerment, economic justice, democratic development and gender equity for a just and peaceful Liberia. We are located in the City of Gbarnga, Bong County, Central Liberia, West Africa and work in three of Liberia's fifteen political sub-divisions—Bong, Lofa, and Nimba counties.

Our Vision

Our Mission

As its mission, the organization works to build a constituency of people-to-people formations in pursuit of grassroots empowerment, economic justice, democratic development and gender equity for a just and peaceful Liberia.

DEN-L envisages a Liberia at peace with itself and its neighbors

Our Beliefs

  • Unequal distribution of resources and all forms of oppressions are a sources of conflict;
  • The way life is for the poor is not the only way it can be; it can be better;
  • The lives of all human beings are of equal value;
  • To contribute to the building of a peaceful Liberia through an empowered society at all levels.

  • To contribute to the empowerment, human rights and equality of women and girls as Liberian citizens in all aspects of their lives

  • To strengthen and maintain DEN-L as an effective, efficient organisation committed to a Liberia at peace with itself and its neighbours.

Our Goals

  • If we work tegether with the world's poor to change unjust policies, structures, and practices at all levels they can take control of their own lives.
